History

After his visit to Meursault in 1975, Jacques Verpoorten decided to get people acquainted with quality wines and started by creating the first tasting classes in Belgium given by Franz Joyeux and later formed a panel from his perfectionist students and intelligent amateurs. This group has been selecting for more than 33 years, the best wines at the most competitive prices.

Apéritifs et Vins Selects SA was formed as a Societe Anonyme (limited liability company) and placed under the management of Jacques Verpoorten. This original site was created in order to expand his business, make the selection easier for amateurs and to widely publicize the unrelenting quality of our selections.

What can we do for you?

Instead of selling you high quality wines at high prices, we offer you a selection at reasonable prices and comparable to the major labels. We ask you what you would rather opt for - Quality or Label? Simultaneously, we advise you on the dishes and cheeses that go with our selection. In a nutshell, our mission is to introduce you to the most excellent wines. We wish to share with you the fruit of more than 33 years of experience in the quest of wines and in their stringent selection. During these times when everything is becoming standardized, we think that it is important to search for authentic, high quality, balanced and healthy wines at reasonable prices.
